John the Baptist loses faith when he is not set free from prison (surely he prayed for God to free him) and begins to question who Jesus is – even after he believed fully at his baptism.  There is a purpose for every unanswered prayer – Hebrews 11 tells us.  God uses our unanswered prayers for us and ultimately for someone else’s faith.
