#111: PART I of Substance Use in Military Culture with James Walker! Maegan is joined by another friend and colleague this week, James Walker, in part I of this episode to talk military psychology. James shares his longstanding family history of serving in the military since the Civil War plus his current clinical work at UMASS Medical School providing substance use therapy to military couples, some of whom are experiencing PTSD, as well as an interesting research project that he is a part of at UMASS with leaders in the field, Elizabeth Epstein, PhD and Barbara McCrady, PhD, which is built upon the Alcohol Behavioral Couples Therapy treatment model now tailored to treat military service members and their families.
