From the end of the Last Ice Age, around 15,000 years ago, when the temperatures begin to warm. When a sudden cooling period begins around 12,850 years ago, known as the Younger Dryas. By 11,600, the warming period returns and the Glacial Ice from the last Ice Age has been melting and causing sea level to rise, flooding the island of Atlantis. Some researchers, have identified the causes of this significant climate events in the holocene, and proposed a hypothesis that the Younger Dryas was caused by a cosmic event which initiated a cooling period.
