We cover challenges the Trump administration may face in passing a new defense budget, especially as it pertains to Congress, tax reform, and closing the deficit. Professor McNaugher then reminds us how crucial it is for practitioners to understand how the budget works in the context of domestic politics. We also discuss the acquisitions process and whether it can keep up with the pace of new and emerging technologies. Professor McNaugher is the Director of Studies and former Interim Director at SSP.
