By exerting full control over the atomic nucleus, mankind will move beyond mere chemical and physical recombination of the elements, to the fine-tuned _creation_ of elements, and the associated energies of the nucleus, on a mass scale. This kind of willful upshift will completely revolutionize our relationship to the universe around us, and will cause the greatest economic upshift in history, to date. A crash program to master nuclear fusion is the urgent step to be taken toward that goal.
