In Ohio, roughly one in four students is chronically absent—missing 10 percent or more of the school year. Behind those numbers are complex challenges that go beyond the classroom, and the solutions are often found outside the classroom, too. In this episode, Communities In Schools of Ohio CEO Adero Robinson discusses how his non-profit organization works in partnership with dozens of public schools to address the root causes of absenteeism and many other issues, building relationships with students and families and creating lasting supports that help more young people succeed.
