On this weeks episode, it is raining money for a couple of superstars. 12 years for $330 million? Thats chump change according to Mike Trout who is signing a 12 year extension worth $430 million with the Angels. So that dream scenario for Phillies fans was quickly shut down. But Trout wasnt the only one getting paid, Alex Bregman signed his extension with the Astros and Mookie Betts turned down his. But we are seeing a ton of money being thrown at players, who will be the first $500 million player? Eloy Jimenez? Vald Jr? Mookie Betts? Has he been born yet? Who knows but it will happen at some point. We have rule changes coming to MLB, one which may have stars joining in the HR derby as the prize money has been increased to $1 million, but will this have any effect on Trout, Harper, Machado, etc. And finally, the story of Ichiro has come full circle as he announces his retirement from baseball after concluding the opening series in Japan, where is all started for him, more than 20 years ago.
