Passion is one of those words that gets used a lot without really understanding the original meaning of the word. Many people use the words  “passion” or "passionate", when referring to strong emotions, an intense desire or boundless enthusiasm, a drive to do a particular thing or a particular cause. But the word passion actually comes from a Latin word that means to suffer.  

So really, being passionate means; "A Willingness to Suffer for What You Love"

The most famous example being the passion of Yeshua, Jesus. That’s why the stage performances of Christ’s life are called “passion plays”

Anyway, thinking about passion that way changes your perspective, if you use it to describe an activity, goal or cause that you care about so much that I you are willing to suffer for it.
