When we consider the Spring feasts of the Lord, which begin with the remembrance of Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread, we are reminded that one of the reasons that we observe these holidays is because it is a sign of our obedience to God’s commandments. What is it about this particular sign that in and of itself is so life changing? Is it possible that the Holy One really does want His children to remember the trauma of the Ancient Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt—and what it required in terms of human life—in order to get our undivided attention?
