At a table meant for celebration, Jesus introduces a tension no one expects: betrayal from within. In the middle of a meal that tells the story of God’s rescue, He reveals a deeper truth that this story has always been pointing to Him. As the bread is broken and the cup is shared, Jesus declares that He is the true Passover Lamb, the one who takes our place and makes a way for us to belong. In this moment, we’re reminded that salvation isn’t something we achieve, but something we receive, and a love we’re invited to live out.
