Present affirmative:

わたし　は　きょうし　です。

I am a teacher.

Past affirmative:

わたし　は　きょうし　でした。

I was a teacher.

Present negative:

わたし　は　きょうし　ではありません。（ではないです）

I am not a teacher.

Past negative:

わたし　は　きょうし　ではありませんでした。（ではなかったです）

I was not a teacher.

わたし　は　きょう　マクドナルド　に　いきます。

I will go to McDonald's today.

わたし　は　きょう　マクドナルド　に　いきました。

I went to McDonald's today.
