Past Tense of "X is Y" and Verbs

In this lesson, I will introduce you how to make past tense of "X is Y" and verbs.


Present affirmative:

わたし は きょうし です。

I am a teacher.

Past affirmative:

わたし は きょうし でした

I was a teacher.

Present negative:

わたし は きょうし ではありません。(ではないです)

I am not a teacher.

Past negative:

わたし は きょうし ではありませんでした(ではなかったです)

I was not a teacher.


わたし は きょう マクドナルド に いきます

I will go to McDonald's today.

わたし は きょう マクドナルド に いきました

I went to McDonald's today.
