It’s 10 years since Bolton Wanderers beat Wigan Athletic on home soil, and in that decade we’ve had unpaid players, unexplained capitulations, unfathomable performances and an unimaginably poor record of one goal scored and 11 against.

But here at The Buff, hope springs eternal. Is this the day that it finally all clicks for Steven Schumacher’s Wanderers, and the bright sparks we have seen so far finally join together to make one giant lightning bolt?
