Pastor Sheila Mathis Embracing God
Isaiah 41:10 & 40:28-31 AMPC
• Fear Not, God is with you. He strengthens you. He holds you.
• Only true if you embrace God.
• Embrace—to hold, to accept (2 parts of an embrace).
• We must accept/embrace His Word in our life/situation for it to be true for us.
• Example: Habakkuk=embrace, book of Habakkuk illustrates trading weakness for strength, union with God (Summary of Habakkuk).
• Accepting/Embracing leads to revelation and vision beyond our circumstances.
• Luke 2:19 Hab. 2:2-4
• Vision—ability to think about or plan the future with imagination. It is something seen in a dream, trance or ecstasy, a supernatural appearance that conveys a revelation, a manifestation to the senses of something immaterial.
• Vision is accomplished by a life of faith (potty training story).
• Making Is. 40:28-31 true in your life.
• Follow Habakkuk’s example.
• Embrace God.
• Pray it Out.
• Praise no matter the circumstances. Hab. 3:17-19
• Habakkuk does not deny his problems nor does he treat them lightly. Instead, he finds God sufficient in the midst of his troubles.
• Perception changes after union with God and embracing His vision in your life.
• As perception changes revelation, faith and joy grows in your heart.
• It creates a place of stability.
