God, sometimes I want you to save me
            from your will.

I pray, “Don’t ask me to follow
            into uncomfortable situations.”

I settle for small pleasures
            instead of great joy.

Sometimes what is most powerful
           is most fraught.

Sometimes the call
            is to the path of most resistance.
