This week on #TubtaNabadda, we discuss the importance of Somali women’s participation in politics and the decision-making processesf for a better and sustainable future for all Somalis.
In our first segment, Dr Sadiyo Siad, founder of Hano Academy, an educational institution in Somalia, explores how the quota can enhance women's participation in politics and elevate their socio-economic status, while also addressing key challenges that women encounter in Somalia.
In the second segment, Farhiyo Warsame from the Somali Family Support Network, a non-governmental organisation, sheds light on how non-profit organizations are actively raising awareness for 30 per cent of women's representation in parliament, and the support systems required for women candidates to succeed.
