The first tower defense game in the modern sense seems to be Rampart (1990). There are probably different games but I wouldn’t know.

I (Faden) mentioned the Adventure of Booty Bandit for Dark Souls and that was my mistake. I meant to say Derby but Booty Bandit is so fun to say it just sticks in my head. But check out Dia Lacina on Youtube.
