After a failed attack that was doomed from the start, three of his men are tried for cowardice under penalty of death. A lawyer himself, Colonel Dax, played by Kirk Douglas must defend his men being prosecuted by his commending officers. A film regarded as one of the best antiwar films, it continues to affect audiences to this day.
