Doug Horchak offers insight into what Paul meant when he talked about “the patience and comfort of the Scriptures.”
NOTE: There is at least one instance in the New Testament where the term “the Scriptures” is applied to New Testament writings, and that’s in 2 Peter 3:16. There, Peter acknowledges some of Paul’s writing as having a place among the inspired Word of God. But generally, as noted in this episode, the use of “the Scriptures” in the New Testament refers to the Old Testament writings.
