We travel back in time to the mid-1800s, when the American Civil War was in progress, the 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was enacted, and Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. A drifter named Franklin Evans was considered one of the first "repeat killers," or what we now term serial killers. His crimes were brutal and his victims were young, and his primary hunting ground was New England.
