Patrick Halton is a Program Manager with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. He is team lead for child protection, responding to the Rohingya refugee crisis where UNICEF has had a presence since 2017.
Patrick has a background in child protection in emergencies, especially issues of children affected by armed conflict including children associated with armed forces and groups. He has a postgraduate degree in Post War Recovery Studies from the University of York, as well as a degree in humanities from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Patrick has worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sri Lanka, and with UNICEF in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Sudan, Philippines, Lebanon and Bangladesh.
