Twenty-two months after Hurricane Harvey Anne, Allison, Mikha, and Jennifer begin offering services at their completely rebuilt--and reimagined--learning commons. But the new space and its wealth of technology mean new challenges for the staff. How will they adapt? And most of all, what does it mean to them to have worked so hard and achieved so much, only to have the coronavirus change their day-to-day yet again?

Mikha, Anne, Allison, and Jennifer begin to envision the future of their library. They visit a dozen colleges and universities around Houston for inspiration and compile all of their ideas in a Vision Book. But can they convince the administration to follow their lead? What about the architects?

Jennifer, Allison, Mikha, and Anne start up the semester in the weeks after the flood. Their library undergoes a variety of changes, as do their jobs and their relationships with each other.
