Saved by Golf, Patti Valero Is Now Giving Back to the Game.. After losing her left lower leg in an accident, the Floridian found clubs in the back of her fire station and started swinging. Many trophies later, she's now an ambassador for adaptive golf. Valero estimates she plays about 20 tournaments per year. The goal now is more to support them than win them.
