Young New Zealand males are being lured in by scammers, due to overconfidence in their technical abilities.
Microsoft research has revealed more than 75 per cent of Kiwis have experienced at least one tech scam.
The research also shows young men in this country are the most susceptible to being sucked in.
Gorilla Tech CEO Paul Spain told Mike Hosking it's difficult to pinpoint exactly why.
"Whether it's our low population, whether it's just that we, as a country, like to punch above our weight and we are just doing it in the wrong area in this case."
