Paul Warren, an accomplished Australian Muay Thai kick-boxing champion, was well-accustomed to the physically demanding nature of martial arts at the highest level. However, the agony he encountered in the Australian army was beyond anything he had ever encountered before. As a soldier in the ADF, he was deployed to Afghanistan, but a month after his arrival, he was struck by an IED blast that severed his right leg and tragically claimed the life of his comrade, Private Ben Ranaudo.
