Paula Fuga talks about her recent Na Hoku Award and the “Paula Fuga’s Tribute to Aretha Franklin” at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 7:30pm in the Castle Theater.For the first time on Maui, Paula Fuga will deliver her renowned show with an all-star, 10-piece band composed of the best musical talent Hawai‘i has to offer. This super band includes her music director, Ethan Capone, on a grand piano, the addition of a three-piece horn section and three of her favorite soulful female vocalists: Keilana Mokulehua, Maile and Lana Kei.
Paula is coming off the amazing vibrations of her recent wins at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards for her album with Brushfire Records, RAIN ON SUNDAY, ("Female Vocalist of the Year" & " Contemporary Album of the Year"). She is feeling the Aloha from appearing at Jack Johnson's benefits for Kokua Hawaii Foundation and embarks on a Mainland tour the weekend after this MACC show. This will be a sophisticated evening in the Castle Theater on August 13 as one of Hawai'i's most loved artists honors Aretha Franklin, the Legendary Queen of Soul.
