Today, in part 3 of a 4 part series on the Rapture of the Church, we will highlight the apostle Paul’s teaching on verses 3 through 10 of 2 Thessalonians. These verses are one of the main teachings on what is often called today the “pre-Tribulational” Rapture of the Church. There Paul teaches that when the Rapture of the Church occurs (called the “falling away” in verse 3, really simply a “departure” or “separation” as the word is usually translated in Paul’s letters), then the man of lawlessness will be free to manifest himself and his evils openly. The great restrainer on his powers today, namely the Church itself, will be taken out of the way as verse 7 indicates. Unfortunately, the translators tend to obscure this precious teaching due to their often anti-dispensational presuppositions. Even the KJV translators try to make this all about “spiritual apostasy” which it is not. The latter has always been with us, even from Paul’s day as he has written so clearly in 2 Timothy, etc.
