Our next guest partnered with the Hugh Masekela Heritage Foundation and photographer, Brett Rubin to tell the story of migration through the streets of central Johannesburg and reflects on the roots of the city being embedded in migrant labour. The series of animated shorts explores the idea of a physical space being passed over different generations of migrants. A constant architectural cityscape frozen in time but its migrant population reshaping their mobility and evolving what it means to dig for gold in their respective fields.
