Boulder Valley Frequency

Paychecks & Politics | Boulder County’s Wage Debate

Listen Later

Wednesday, September 24

Good morning, Boulder County! This is the very first episode of The Frequency — a weekly podcast bringing you all the local news you need to know, quickly and without the chaos.

When Boulder Weekly stopped publishing this summer, it left a big gap in local news coverage. Host Shay Castle started this podcast to keep our community connected — whether you’re a longtime Boulder news junkie or just tuning in to local stories for the first time.

  • Sundance comes to Boulder: City Council approves a new “festival lodging” permit ahead of the festival’s 2027 relocation.

  • Election season: Boulder County races are set for November 4, with ballots mailed out starting October 10. School board and city council seats are up, plus two countywide tax measures (open space and mental health). Candidate forums begin Sept. 27 — details at lwvbc.org.
