Petrol and diesel prices today touched record levels across India after rates were hiked by 25 paise and 30 paise a litre respectively. The prices of CNG and PNG have also been increased sharply. The reality is, more than half of the money paid by the consumer to purchase fuels goes towards some tax or the other.
