The Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day of memorial each year on the 20th of November to memorialize those transgender people we have lost over the previous year due to murder for simply being transgender. This past year (2012) there were 265 world wide. So many questions exist with the TDOR I believe. Is it important to have a day each year to memorialize TG’s, what message is this sending? How does a person/community memorialize these individuals? Why are so many being murdered? How do they know they are being murdered for being TG? Is this a race issue?
