We discuss Ignaz Semmelweis, the 19th century Hungarian physician who predated Lister, Koch, and Pasteur in promoting antiseptic procedures but was ostracized and lambasted for it. Most of what we discuss is from Sherwin B. Nuland's book "Doctors: The Biography of Medicine".
