Pdexposures Podcast Episode 14 – Soviet Rangefinders Pt. 2: Attack of the Leica clones!

Listen Later

Here at Pdexposures we are of the belief (well, one of us is, anyway) that the best kind of party is a Communist Party, so we're making a second vodka-soaked visit to the Cold War era to discuss the ins and outs of the rangefinders of the Soviet Union.
While we've already covered the Kiev line and the history of the Soviet camera industry pretty thoroughly back in part 1, this time round we get a rundown of more or less every Leica mount rangefinder they Soviets produced, from the original Fed all the way through to the relatively obscure Leningrad. You couldn't even find this much information in the entirety of Das Kapital, and that thing is HUGE.
Fittingly - considering this is a return to a previous topic - we return to one of our first bands for the music: Crocus. It's a song called A Spiritual Polemic from their split EP with Lavotchkin. Do both bands - and your neighbours - a favour and track down their EP and play it loud every single day.
And, of course, don't forget to visit pdexposures.com for more film-based goodness!
