If you turn on the TV, it’s inevitable that you’ll catch a story on crime, scandal, or tragedy. The bad news is unrelenting. But when we have a personal relationship with the true living God, we have peace even amidst all the bad news.

You may be listening and thinking, “Luis, how can I possibly have peace when there’s so much darkness in the world today?” but I will tell you this: God’s peace transcends all understanding. His peace is the kind that gives us confidence in a future with Him, so we are not swayed by the dramatic news updates of each moment.

John 16:33 in the Bible says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
