The Gospel According to Mark • September 6th, 2020

Jesus is fully aware that we are social creatures - women and men created in the image of the trinitarian community of love we call God - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. We were created to live into and out of a deep & abiding community; and not just any community, a community marked by peace and justice. I think this is one of the reasons why these past few months and the lingering social isolation have been so challenging. Because on top of an already tense moment, we’re surrounded by soul-grieving divisions that grow deeper still (interpersonally - families & friends; intrapersonally - confusion & apathy).

This teaching aims to draw us into the severity and hope of Jesus' teaching on hell.
