Season 5, Episode 3 A multinational peacekeeping force was established in 1992 to address the humanitarian crisis ensued in the Balkans after the dissolution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. NATO and European Union missions continued post 1995, in an attempt to restore peace. Canada contributed military personnel to both UN and NATO missions until 2000, with units from The RCR involved in some of the most significant events in this region ravaged by civil war between Bosnians, Croatians, and Serbs, of Christian and Muslim faiths.
