Public gatherings are out of the question at least through April. Many traditional ways of enjoying the arts are out of play now. But across the country – and right here in the Pikes Peak Region – artists are finding creative ways to continue playing their important role in society.
In this episode we’re joined by Andy Vick, executive director, and Angela Seals, deputy director, of COPPeR – the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region. They share what they know about the impact of the coronavirus shutdown on the arts community, how it’s adapting, what the Cultural Office is doing to help, and what area residents can do.
Two of the exciting things we learn about in this episode are Peak Radar’s new listing and gateway to virtual arts events, and the Artist Recovery Fund. Listen to get the full scoop. This conversation was recorded virtually on March 27, 2020.
This is the third in a special Coronavirus series of Peak Town Square podcast episodes. Subscribe or return often so you don’t miss the next episode in this series. If your organization would like to participate in one of these episodes, send us an email or call Studio 809 at 719-203-1660.
