Radio Kotagiri's Sneha interviews Bindhu, a working woman in Kesalada:

My name is Mrs. Bindhu, and I live in Kesalada village. I work as an IT team leader in a call center job at Nawa company, and in the evenings, I conduct a "ILLAM THEDI KALVI" class for school students in my town. I have been married for 12 years and have witnessed many changes since moving from my birth house to my husband's house. His family has been very supportive of my progress. I am determined to pursue a postgraduate degree. With my husband's support, I continued my education after marriage. During my second pregnancy, I studied diligently for nine months, a moment of great pride for me. I firmly believe that women have the strength to overcome any obstacles.

Following my studies, I secured a job and now work from home. I owe a debt of gratitude to my aunt for her immense support. She played a significant role in assisting me when my second child was one year old, and I hold her in high regard, akin to my own mother.

When reflecting on the contributions of women, our culture traditionally limited women's educational opportunities. However, women today excel in various fields, navigating the challenges of balancing family responsibilities with their professional commitments, showcasing their resilience and adaptability. Education plays a crucial role in empowering girls, and I am grateful for the unwavering support of my husband and aunt in my educational journey.
