Welcome to Episode 8 of Penny Drops!
This episode is part philosophy, part exhibition and part audio waffle, in which Will and Eva discuss the theme of ‘Flowers’ in relation to the article ‘A Flowered Planet’ by Olivia Laing. With Laing’s text as a guide, we discuss floriography, semiotics and war monuments. Centre stage we have four wonderful tracks by the artists Ethan Moss, Jamie Scott-Dyson and Lottie Morton, all of whom have sent us work interpreting the theme.
There will be ‘ums’, there will be long pauses while we string together whatever knowledge remains of our expensive degrees, but most importantly there will be art.
Just to remind you, if you want to submit please send your .mp3 or .wav files to
[email protected]The theme for Episode 9 will be OBSERVATION: visibility and invisibility.
