Episode Notes

This week on the Penny Forward podcast, we get to know Jo Elizabeth Pinto. Joe was born three months too early and lost her vision due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). Blindness didn’t stop her from reading, though, and from the time she figured out that words could be written down and reread, she knew she wanted to be an author. Her first novel, “The Bright Side of Darkness”, won two first-place Next Generation Independent Book awards and three awards from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association in 2016. When she isn’t writing, she works as a Braille proofreader and lives with her husband and daughter in Brighton, CO.
