Professor John Piggott (University of New South Wales) is Director of Australia’s leading scholar in the area of pension economics and population ageing. In addition to research, he has contributed to policymaking - as a consultant to several governments on pension reforms, including Australia, Japan, and Russia.

In this video-interview Prof Piggott talks to Dr Jan Libich about the problem of the pay-as-you-go pension system used by most countries, and its dire prospects due to the demographic trend towards an aging population.
