Jude 1:20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Benefits of Praying in Tongues:
Praying in tongues builds you up.
Praying in tongues quiets the mind.
Praying in tongues edifies our spirit.
I Corinthians 14:14
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
A life lived free from the bondages of this world speaks loudly to those we witness to.
II Corinthians 3:17-18
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Luke 11:13
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Big Idea:
Tongues is not the end all be all; but it’s also not something that we should shy away from… it is a part of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and a wonderful gift.
I Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
Closing Thought:
The Spirit-filled life is the provision of the Spirit for every believer.
