I was watching a show last night. A character studying to become a therapist was told — “you need to figure out when it happened.”
And I sat with that for a second.
Because here’s what I know: it’s never about when it happened. You can know exactly when it happened — the age, the room, the sentence someone said to you — and still be people pleasing your way through your entire life. Because the knowing lives in the mind. And the wound doesn’t live in the mind. It lives in the body.
This talk is about that distinction — and what it actually takes to release a pattern that’s been running since before you had words for it. Where people pleasing comes from, the wound of conditional love underneath it, the difference between a genuine kind gesture and a dysregulated one, and the practice that actually interrupts the pattern — not figuring it out, but feeling it.
I’m a recovering people pleaser myself. This one is personal. And it still creeps up sometimes. That’s not failure. That’s being human.
You’ve carried this long enough. Let It Go Workshop — $47.
