Today, I talk about people that have lived to be 100. We have some people that have shared their secrets to a long, healthy life. And I thought it'd be kind of fun to share this because it's interesting. One of the world's oldest living man's suggestions is to be sure that you eat plenty of cake.
What is the secret to living a long, healthy life? A Place for Mom, an assisted living referral service, sought to find the answer to that eternal question. So what they did is they dug through interviews with some over-100's to compile their tips on leading a long life. And some of these will probably surprise you. They did me.
The company analyzed 100 interviews with people who lived until at least 100 years old. It found that wild 25% followed traditional, healthy living advice, such as eating a healthy diet 29% pretty much ignored it. For instance, Agnes Fenton believes that consuming three Miller High Life beers and a shot of whiskey helped her live to be 112 years old. Now for what it's worth. Fenton died in August of 2017. About 16% of those over 100 years old said drinking alcohol every day was the secret to their longevity. This tracks with a recent study claiming that moderate alcohol use was linked to longevity. So what do these folks have to say? Join me for today's Podcast to learn more.
Thank you,
Mark
