My name is Amanda Rose, most of you know me from a video DaBaby posted from his ATL meet & greet. I’m a single mom of 1 beautiful and smart son. We’re originally from Philadelphia. We drove from Philadelphia to Atlanta to visit a friend and to get away for a few days.
Once we arrived, the first few days were AMAZING! But then things took a turn for the worst, my car started to give out on us, I was extremely limited on funds so I couldn’t afford to get the issues addressed.
The hustler in me kicked in, i started making hats trying to sell, I started doing doordash & ubereats. We pretty much over stayed our welcome at our initial place so now we were bouncing from AirBnb to my car.
We completely hit rock bottom when all my funds were exhausted, we spent 2 nights in my car and I knew we just couldn’t do this for long. I received a little assistance from friends on Facebook and was able to get a room for the night.
While scrolling Instagram I saw that DaBaby would be doing a meet & greet close to where I was staying. In that instant I decided that I’d take my crochet hats with me and try to sell a couple of them to him. The wait was long but I was determined to make a couple bucks so that my son & I would have somewhere to stay that night. Unbeknownst to me my life was about to take a drastic change! After sitting outside the venue for 3+ hours, I FINALLY got to meet with DaBaby I pretty much presented my hats and started to tell him about my journey so far in Atlanta, he was so moved by my drive to keep going for the sake of my son, that he donated $1000 to us and decided to help promote my business. Orders have now been rolling in but we are still not in a good place
