Fred Iutzi, president of The Land Institute, shares the importance of developing perennial food crops to our food system, as well as to the planet. Notably, the organization has developed a trademarked strain of perennial wheat called Kernza whose root systems are substantially more robust than annual wheat root systems, which has many benefits to our climate and environment.
