This sermon is for Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. In our gospel text for this day, Jesus reminds us, again, that he is going to suffer and die and then rise again. In fact, this is the message of the whole of discipleship: that in order to get ahead, we have be follow and to be first, we must serve all.
