The culture of shame around periods and a strain on resources prevent some people in Aotearoa from accessing basic period education and products. People who get periods are often ostracised from basic activities, and if you’re struggling to put food on the table as it is, affording period products can become an insurmountable burden, no one should have to live that way. This episode Danika and Tegan chat with Jacinta Gulasekharam, co-founder of Dignity, a fellow initiative helping Aotearoa work towards period equity, and our very own Sarah Mikkelson, co-founder of The Period Place.

Dignity and The Period Place are among several Kiwi initiatives that are working towards ending period poverty in Aotearoa.
