Perry Fire fully contained at 5.2 acres; Box Elder County's 2025 fire season remains light

A small wildfire that sparked Thursday on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest southwest of Mantua Reservoir was fully contained Sunday evening after burning 5.2 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Named the Perry Fire, the blaze was visible from Interstate 15 but did not trigger evacuations or road closures. Initial estimates Friday morning placed its size near 10 acres in heavy timber.
