Perry police report shows rising workload, staffing gap

Perry City police handled a growing workload in 2025 while continuing to operate with fewer officers than comparable agencies, according to the department’s annual report presented to the city council on Thursday. Police Chief Scott Hancey presented statistics from the department’s 2025 annual report, showing increased overall case activity alongside continued staffing pressure.
