America is the most prosperous nation in the history of the world. After adjusting for cost-of-living differences, a typical American still earns an income that is ten times the income received by the typical person in the world. 72% of Americans over the age of 20 are classified as “overweight” by the CDC. Politicians stay in office by promising to keep our nation prosperous. 

We all love having food and clothing - and, by itself there is nothing wrong with being wealthy. However, are there any dangers to being so well off?
